Dr. Paria, nd

In my early 20’s, I was struggling with anxiety, hormonal imbalances, chronic fatigue, and gut issues. I was shuffled around between doctors who couldn’t seem to tell me what was wrong, kept putting me on a revolving door of medications, and more often than not told me my symptoms were all in my head. I felt broken as a patient in the healthcare system.

During this time, I was on the path of attending pharmacy school. I had taken a gap year to work as a pharmacy technician, but during this time I felt myself pulled further and further away from this career path as I found what helped me heal the most was lifestyle medicine, herbs, and supplements.

I knew there had to be a better way to practice medicine, and that was by pursuing preventative & natural methods.

I knew from my own experience that there needed to be a space where people felt heard, understood, and their doctor took the time to investigate their health as opposed to giving out a cookie-cutter treatment.

A month shy of attending pharmacy school, I dropped out and redirected my life by applying to Bastyr University for Naturopathic Medicine, earning my doctorate degree. At Bastyr, I went through a rigorous accredited 4-year program that included didactic & clinical training and went on to pass both NPLEX I & II in order to become licensed in the state of California to practice medicine.

I’m passionate about naturopathic medicine because it’s the future of medicine.

I want to be a part of the work that is done to discover the root cause of symptoms. I want to set individuals on a path of healing and living a healthy life.

Naturopathic medicine has helped me heal in so many ways. I know what it's like to feel frustrated as a patient and unable to get answers. I want to create a space for my patients where all those questions are finally answered.

A future student of naturopathic medicine and curious human since childhood, Brooke feels she was destined to learn and help others heal. Growing up, she spent her time researching different topics of science, nature, and animals to write books on them. Throughout college, a love for nutrition, yoga, and psychology blended all of this together into discovering the field of holistic medicine.

When not writing, Brooke has worked at an acupuncture clinic and remote women’s healthcare company. At her core she can be found hiking, traveling the world (a work in progress), or volunteering with animals of any kind. She is eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with Dr. Paria to help women connect back to themselves.
